Mr. Havens is responsible for ensuring the cost-effective, environmentally sound and sustainable design and maintenance of engineering services in our buildings.
Areas of responsibility include all equipment and materials involved with heating, lighting, ventilation, air-conditioning, electrical distribution, water supply, sanitation, public health, fire protection, safety systems, lifts, escalators, facade engineering and acoustics.
With the current emphasis on sustainability, cutting-edge designing, developing and managing new technologies that integrate into existing systems and services, Mr. Havens is also responsible for overseeing the Environmental Protection Agency's "Energy Star" and the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. As well as performing energy savings case studies on various properties throughout our portfolio.

& Experience
Mr. Havens joined NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, Inc. in October 2009. Mr. Havens has over 13 years of construction and engineering experience. Mr. Havens had started his engineering and construction background as a consulting Bridge Engineer for Florida's Turnpike. Since then Mr. Havens has worked with numerous national, as well as, international builders and developers in both the residential and commercial markets.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering, Tallahassee, Florida.
