NAI/Merin Hunter Codman LEASES 21,000 SQUARE FEET OF CLASS-A OFFICE IN BOCA RATON

Large NYSE Service Provider Sees Room for Growth at 951 Yamato 

West Palm Beach, Fla. – NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, the largest commercial real estate brokerage firm in Palm Beach County, Florida today announced that it has leased 21,000 square feet of Class-A office space at 951 Yamato Road in Boca Raton to CBIZ (NYSE: CBZ), one of the nation’s leading providers of accounting services, risk management, human resources, benefits services and technology. 951 Yamato is a 145,000 square foot office building that NAI/Merin Hunter Codman redeveloped last year, and as such, is one of the newer Class-A buildings in the Boca Raton market. CBIZ has leased the entire second-floor west wing of the building where it now houses approximately 40 employees with room for further expansion. CBIZ, which has over 140 offices nationwide, consolidated some of the company’s growing Palm Beach and Miami-Dade County businesses into the new office.

“We reviewed space alternatives for over a year,” said Bob Schneiderman, a Principal at NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, who represented CBIZ in the lease transaction. “All roads led back to 951 Yamato due to its central location in South Florida, about midway between the West Palm Beach and Miami business districts, and the fact that the building offered a large footprint that could accommodate business growth.”

The wing which CBIZ leased features windows on all four sides, three conference rooms, and room for over 50 individual offices. It is one of three wings at 951 Yamato. Previously, CBIZ leased approximately 16,000 square feet in two different locations in the same building. The new, larger CBIZ space was rebuilt to CBIZ’s specifications as part of the building’s redevelopment.

Added Richard Brockney, Senior Commercial Associate at NAI/Merin Hunter Codman, who represented the building’s owner, 951 Yamato Acquisition Co. LLC, in the transaction, “Few buildings in the Boca Raton area are as accessible as 951 Yamato, which is a strong draw to tenants.” 951 Yamato is directly across the street from a Tri-Rail station, just one mile from both I-95 and Florida’s Turnpike, and is minutes from an executive airport. NAI/Merin Hunter Codman moved its own south county operations to 951 Yamato last year, with those operations headed by Bob Schneiderman.
